The stop motion film is a process of constructing my installation “Slade House”, which is based on my series of 5 paintings. All originated from the fiction by David Mitchell – Slade house.
Its elements composed an air of mysterious creep, telling a story of a pair of “soul-vampires’ who sustain immortality by consuming an’ engifted soul’ every 9 years, luring them into their sanctuary–Slade House, through a key-less black iron door in a thin alley way called ‘Slade Alley”. the story is masterfully written and gave me lots of ideas and images to build into a visual story-telling piece. I first painted the 5 acrylic pieces based on the 5 chapters in the book, and extended the elements onto an installation.
